Rock in Rio 2008

Following the success of the previous editions in Portugal 2004 y 2006, the biggest music and entertainment festival in the world makes its first Spanish Edition in Madrid.

For the first time, the festival takes place in two cities in the same year. The challenge to the organization was largely compensated by the audience's response who, once again, made of Rock in Rio, one of the biggest events of the year.

The city of rock

A City of Rock was build in Arganda del Rey, in Madrid. With an area of 200 000 square meters, was build as a musical and entertaining park so that everyone attending the event can have a magical day and fully enjoy the Rock in Rio experience.
Within the main attractions of the new city of rock, one can find:
Stars Fountain: Where the water and colors dance at the music’s rhythm, turning the center of the venue into one of the main attractions.

World Stage: With surprising dimensions, 100 m width and 28 m high, 200 solar panels with the pedagogical goal of calling the attention of all people seeing these images throughout the world, 250 000 watts of sound and 270 projectors.

Electronic Area: build with 6 giant “gramophone like” structures of 3 tons each, placed in circle, created like intelligent robots with platforms prepared to dancers’ performances and circular screens with projections, stage of aprox.900m2 inspired in the famous “Stone Enge”.

Ferris wheel Movistar-Embratur, a snow slop, a tyrolean traverse and many other attractions in an area designed to guarantee the comfort and leisure of everyone. Lisbon
The “Parque da Bela Vista”, with 200 000 square meters gathers exceptional conditions to receive once more the event.
The city of rock presented many surprises compared with the 2006’s edition.
The area was carefully studied y redefined with the goal of surpass the public’s expectations and offer an even more comfortable ambient to all festival goers.
